Oof. It's negative 18° (windchill of -46°) and apparently heat pumps really don't work well at this temp; it's like 50° in the store even though it's set at 65°. Heat pumps are indeed the future...but apparently you need a backup. Which I'm now venturing out to try to find so no pipes freeze...
