In France, the price on the menu is the price you pay. The tax is already built into the price and tipping is not a part of the culture. You can leave a small tip, say 1€ or 2€ at your table and it will be appreciated but it is not required. This is true in Portugal, Spain and Italy as well.

Every American should be required to own a passport and spend at least 10 days in a foreign country.
My #PresidentsDay ruling.

Cool. So the country will pay for our tickets?
Cause I’m down to travel for free.

When I first traveled overseas, that was the first time I had ever been on a plane. Travel or not - just don't ask me if you need a handout to do so.

I’m confused. How can every American be required to travel if not every American can even afford a passport?

Are you confused about the $130 spent for a passport that will last 10 years?
Me, I think that is a fucking bargain for being an American citizen.

I’m not confused. But if you’re already living paycheck-to-paycheck, that’s just the first expense to travel.
Not understanding that foreign travel isn’t an option to many people in this country is coming from a place of privilege.
Insisting that everyone be required to is unrealistic.
