The Merriam-Webster definition of woke is: "Aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)." So when people yell, "I'm not woke!" it tells you all you need to know.

Without looking up the formal definition, I gave my own thoughts earlier on Spout and it is very close to what you posted.

Ron DeSantis, who uses this term all the time, is likely to make ending “wokism” a major part of his campaign if/when he announces his candidacy for President.
