When I was at the NY AG, a friend of mine couldn’t even buy me a drink because he was working for a govt contractor. As public servants we took our ethical duties seriously. You serve the people, not yourself.

Clarence Thomas got 38 free luxury vacations and kept them secret.

Thomas kept those trips secret because he damn well knew they were absolutely, in any circumstances, and especially his, wrong

YES. How is there no code of ethics applicable to SCOTUS?! They obviously know right from wrong in the context of their position. There must be consequences for this kind of unethical behaviour... it's abhorrent.

I've worked in social services my whole life. Mostly case management, working with disabled people and their families. We were not allowed to ever accept a gift, no matter how small. Like not even a $5 gift card for coffee.
Fuck this guy.

Clarence Thomas, like Donald Trump, never thought he would be caught. Ah-Ha. Considering both of their positions, it's the purposeful intent.

I’m on a school board. It’s a volunteer position. We are so much more careful to avoid conflicts of interest than SCOTUS justices! And we have a $50.00 a year limit on what we can receive, plus we fill out a yearly report listing all our assets, incomes and those of everyone living with us.
