I work in America remotely for a European employer. The pace during the year is frantic, but I’m reaching the end of 3 weeks off, and could have taken more without being frowned on. My health insurance has covered nearly all of my doctors’ bills for the last 2 years. Why is America so bad at this?

Because in America health care is a for profit industry where the denial of care increases the share price, provides a stronger return on investment and ends up in the pockets of the execs running the show. It is by design. It’s not health care it’s a product.
