Turkish has "old" and "new" words where Turkish or French was used in place of Persian, Arabic, Greek, or Kurdish words. Whole story is fascinating and was kind of a PITA because I kept getting corrected until I realized the politics behind the word choice

I need to find the video link but there's a guy deciphering the Voynich manuscript. Old Turkish seems to be it's language, or at least the major influence. He had I think about a third of it decoded.

Ottoman language use was wild! Like many Turks in the Agean Region learned to write Turkish in Greek characters or Arabic script in Hatay before 1923. So it would be like reading Arabic written in Russian or something
