FOX makes most of its money from the exorbitantly high fees it charges cable and satellite companies to carry its programs. But this may be coming to an end:

I thought it was the sports that kept them afloat. 🤷‍♂️

It's the fees they charge for them. Their fees are historically been so high, they could lose every single advertiser and still turn a small profit. But as more people drop cable, even those high fees aren't high enough - but this time the cable companies aren't coughing up the dough just yet.

The thing is, there's always broadcast TV and ESPN to cater to one's sports jones. Or even internet broadcasts. FOX is about to find out that it's not irreplaceable in this regard.
