Law enforcement and teaching get paid by us, the taxpayers. But why does the latter get Hell for requesting a little more to make ends meet?

While the former can retire with a full pension after 20 years. I get that it's a dangerous job...but teachers are just as (or maybe more) important public servants.

I get it too that what police do is literally a matter of life or death, but given recent events in our history, the same could be same about educators. Wouldn't surprise me if white supremacy and hyper masculinity have something to do with it.

Because public education has been under assault by the right wing for decades. Knowledge is power and they don't want the masses to be properly educated so they attack the teachers. On the flip side the police are a tool of white supremacy so they want to make sure they're paid.

Absolutely. White men see cops as violently enforcing their role atop the hierarchy while teachers, bringing education, call that hierarchy into question (not that there isn't plenty of white supremacy in education too...)
