Nightmares?

Studies have found that right-side sleepers experienced more positive dreams and fewer nightmares than left-side sleepers. For people with heartburn or gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), doctors say the left side is best.

And when we're old and achy and flip sides every few hours? You'd hope for the best of both, but I can attest to a result of strange dreams and heartburn.

This is true. I take Pepcid to deal with night-time acid, and have slept on my left side since recovering from bypass surgery - I've gotten excellent sleep since I started. Before, I slept on my back, and post-surgery had hypoxia and nightmares.

It is also recommended that AFib patients sleep on their right side.
