Yes, I'm keen on trap planting.

Speaking of trap planting, I have huge vine borer issues, so this year, I'm going to plant some Blue Hubbard because I heard it is a good trap crop. Have you ever used it?

Hmmm...just googled. The first I've heard of them. What's your hardiness zone?

I'm Zone 9A. Most zones only deal with squash vine borers in the Summer. I have to deal with them in the late Spring and a second round in the Summer. At one point, I was out there every morning handpicking borer eggs off the leaves and having to cut them out of the vines at least twice a weak.

By the end of the season, I had harvested 3 Futsu, 2 Winter Luxury Pie Pumpkins and 1 Golden Scallop Squash. It was a really hard season. I put down DE, too.
