Drug names have become such ridiculously stupid, gussified floral fabrications. They sound like the idiotic linguistic contrivances they are, not like medicines. On that basis alone Biden has chosen damn well.

Almost all drugs have two names, one for branding (Xanax) and one for pharmaceutical use (alprazolam). Both are generally silly because the trademark office has run out of words to give away.

And there's whatever the chemical formula is, which can usually be expressed in dozens of ways.

But they often have code words in them. Like, any time you see -mab as the suffix, you know that it's a (m)onoclonal (a)nti(b)ody. But then FDA went and messed with that, and now there are four suffixes for mAb drugs:
