So, about two years ago my partner and I had my mother-in-law move in, as her physical and mental health were declining in a manner that constant care was a necessity.

ngl - sometimes I feel like I'm losing my patience and my mind. Any other care-givers out there have any suggestions?

Take breaks with your partner. My sister took our 91 year old mother in. Our siblings take turns staying with her so my sister can take a weekend or day off. We also bring in a nurse on occasion. Breaks are essential.

I think you're right - a break would be pretty beneficial.

My sympathy. Can you afford occasional relief help?

Unfortunately, here in Italy it's really expensive and those extra funds aren't available at this time.

However, once we can afford one, that's a great suggestion, thanks :-)
