The other thing Bouzy et al are missing about the TOS kerfluffle is that boundaries & consent are a HUGE tenet of romancelandia. Building good relationships/communities means communicating what is what clearly in advance. “I know it when I see it” is highly subjective & ripe for misunderstanding.

I'll disagree here. Even the supreme court has been unable to create a legal definition for explicit content. I'll know it when I see it is literally the only approach that exists.

True, but that doesn’t make it a standard that is good. I get that there isn’t an easy way to do this, otherwise we’d have figured it out by now. But the TOS as they stand, won’t do this site much good if it grows. It is vague and poorly written.

Is there A good TOS out there that can be used as a model?

This thread has a good breakdown. I should also clarify that what I meant by saying TOS was actually more specifically mod policies bc that’s where things get hairy when moderating communities.

I take your point. Moderation is hard and no one gets it right even after a lot of iteration which spoutible definitely hasn't gone through of course being less than a month old.

There are a lot of challenges coming. Adult content, copyrightable content, impersonation, different languages etc.

But apple being apple is more chilling than anything spoutible does for adult content.
