We just hit 666 followers; time to post about the man who legendarily "went down to the crossroads." How did Robert Johnson get good quickly? The devil had nothing to do with it. No disrespect to Allen Iverson, but he got good the same way you get to Carnegie Hall, "practice, practice, practice."

Sorry to dig so, so deep into your timeline but I was wondering what you think of the new Johnson biography by Mack McCormick (released April 4) and the Texas Monthly article on McCormick by Michael Hall. I haven't read the biography but the TM article (available online) is really fascinating stuff.

Thanks for putting this on the radar. Many years ago, I read the Guralnick bio, Searching for Robert Johnson, but didn't realize how much of it used Mack's work as a basis. From the TM article, it seems Mack was a thorough researcher and fascinating man, so this book will be added to the queue.
