Facts! My Tiktok feed is full of white people really pushing the limits of the platform's nudity guidelines.

Meanwhile I posted this video of Charliie Chaplin's equality speech from The Great Dictator and got suspended for spreading hate speech.

Black & Brown people are often held to a higher standard than our Caucasian counterparts, and we often face criticism for things our Caucasian counterparts don't. Here are the policies from Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, but the 3-week-old startup gets the criticism? Sounds legit.

I love this speech ( and this film). I've heard from other film buffs that it is flawed because he breaks character and speaks as himself. So what! He wanted the Little Tramp to go out saying important.

I don't think he broke character. I think that was the true character of his Little Tramp.

The Great Dictator was Chaplin's first fully sound film and and the only one in which the Tramp speaks and he uses his voice to speak against greed and fascism.

Released in 1940, before the US was in WW2, written and filmed before many acknowledged what Hitler was doing. Extraordinary. (The scene with the globe is amazing too. )

Also Chaplin had been working on Dictator since 1937/38. It was only released in 1940 because was so meticulous a director that it took that long for him to film it.

They used to turn out movies like Lucy in the candy factory. They could shoot a movie in 2 months and release it the month after.
