After years of ad hoc research, I can now announce that housecats undergo a gradual glass-> rubbery transition between 80 and 90 degrees F
The transition begins with softening, where the cat adopts contorted conformations.

In response to Regina Valluzzi.
As the temperature is elevated further, the cat compketes the 2nd order phase transition to a rubbery state at around 87 degrees. Because the feline glass transition is broad and includes kinetic effects, it overlaps the feline melting transition, approx 87-90 deg F.
