Damn. McKay Coppins reports Angus King warned Mitt Romney that he was in danger before the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Romney texted Mitch McConnell to warn him, but got no response. 👀

On J6 Willard’s life was saved when Capitol police officer Eugene Goodman told him he needed to evacuate in the opposite direction because he was headed toward the terrorists. Yet the racist Romney later voted to disenfranchise that officer by voting against the John Lewis Voting Rights Act - twice.

If they all knew this, and the Pentagon knew it, then presumably law enforcement did too, and the failure to deploy additional reinforcements in advance shows once again how deep the culpability of those in power ran.

This also shows that Jan. 6th should not have been-and likely wasn't-a surprise to anyone in government. They knew people were calling for violence, and to attack the Capitol. That P01135809 was, in Romney's words, "the instigator" and might sabotage the response. That reinforcements might be needed
