What if you need one hand to hold kids, a walking frame, a handbag, a list....? Or you need to carry more than one?
Designed for the young and unencumbered I think. It's a good idea, but it needs development. How do you walk to the bus in the rain?

"Developed in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, these new bags are designed to be both strong and sustainable. With a capacity to hold as much as six four-pint bottles of milk, M&S claims that the bag can be reused up to 100 times."

Great idea, but this is problematic if you don’t have 2 hands to carry it. Kids, dog leashes, etc. big points for effort though.

Like so many things, it will work for some but not for others. Is it a completely bad idea ?

Fair point. I have almost always used M&S on my way home from work though, so I would have had a briefcase and too much marking as well.
Planning is a luxury of you work as well.
