So here’s my case for electric vehicles:

My PHEV costs $1.80 to charge and I can go 35 miles on that charge.
Gas is about $3.85 per gallon and I get 35 mpg
So…to travel 35 miles it cost less using electricity ($1.80) than gas ($3.85) to go the same distance.

I’ve often said that people won’t do what’s right but instead will take the cheapest option, so here’s your proof, although my data limited is size, that electric vehicles are not only better for the environment, but cheaper as well.

I have enough space to power our entire house but my utility company limits how much solar I can use - I can install as much as I want, but anything over their limit goes back to them….at dirt cheap rates (2-3 cents per KWh) to be sold on the grid.

Oh, that's too bad. We also have a big array, but here Edison has to buy back any power we don't use, and while they pay less than what we pay per KwH, it's still enough to cover our costs plus gives us a yearly check from Edison for anywhere from $250 to $350.
