Going down memory lane. I remember a time standing in formation and I was in an all-black platoon. The platoon next to us happened to be all white. The Platoon Sergeant asked his platoon what they were going 2 do on the 4 day weekend. A fellow soldier yelled out "Go ni&&er hunting in Alabama".

Horrible and shameful. As a military dependent, I only saw racism on TV news. I was so sheltered. I joined the military and found out differently. People can be so ignorant. Now I live in Georgia and am appalled at how racist people can be.

And to be honest I think it is getting worse. Trump made it acceptable to say and do anything without any consequences. So the military which is already struggling to recruit and retain soldiers is turning a blind eye to racism, sexual assault, sexism, and other criminal activity.
