I’m sorry but it’s symbolic. Burning books is meaningless, as there are plenty to be had. It’s a symbolic gesture. And as such, saying it’s books is all that’s needed

Only someone who is privileged would see "plenty of books". I know of someone right now who is teaching children who walk a great distance just for the chance to learn to read. There is one book shared by 47 pupils. Get out and see the world!

My comment was in response to someone pointing out that real books weren’t being burned. My point was that book burning is a largely symbolic gesture given that there are billions or trillions of books in circulation. I was NOT commenting on the availability of books in select communities.
