Often seems to be actually conservative wealthy folks using this term to stir up fear of (another?) wealthy powerful group with a progressive agenda, instead of admitting it's just people that want fair pay, equal rights, climate management etc

I wouldn't stop at "often", to be honest, I'd use words like "calculated" and even "always", but then I am like that.
