THIS is worrying since it has huge implications in oral health. Bone is one of the most important structures in the mouth. It's what houses and gives support to your teeth. It's what makes up both your upper and lower jaws.

In response to Jette Po.
It's what gives your face its shape, which is what orthodontists greatly consider when making their treatment plan actually.
What is unknown to many is that the jaws undergo constant remodeling because of biting forces.

Remodeling though needs a good balance of activity of two cells --osteoblasts ("bone builders") and Osteoclasts ("bone destroyers").
This study shows an increased activity of osteoclasts, which doesn't bode well for prostheses like implants, and even dentures, since these greatly rely on bone.
