Wolves have 42 teeth!

12 incisors, 4 canines, 16 premolars, 10 molars. Canine teeth are for puncturing/gripping prey. Wolves nibble meat off the bone with front incisors. Sharp carnassial teeth work like scissors to sheer meat away from bones. Molars are for grinding/crushing.

In response to karakurt.
How are the molars distributed? I would have expected either 8 or 12, but not 10.
