When I quit smoking (the last and final time) smelling someone else's smoke became horrible for me, I could not stand the smell. It's gotten better over time but the effect remains.
When you do emotional work and cut toxicity out of your life the same sort of thing happens. You recognise it quickly.

For me it was the opposite. I missed the smell. Then I sympathized with smokers for a few years. It wasn't until last year that it full on disgust me.

Eh... I switched from cigarettes to vapes so... not the greatest of progress lmao. I was able to quit cigarettes with mango juul pods. I haven't tried vapes yet though. I'm afraid this addiction is even more extreme.

One of the times I tried to quit was with vapes and I was unsuccessful. I ended up using patches and eventually was able to, it was a very long process though
