If the summaries replaced the thread or made it difficult for the user to find the original thread, then I would totally agree with the concerns of some users. However, that isn't the case here. Moreover, 97% of the threads we tested it on were spot on.

I really struggle to see how AI summaries will meaningfully interfere with content creation here. Is anyone who would normally be inclined to consume long form stuff in thread form really going to opt out of that in favor of decent but not perfect AI summaries?

It won't interfere & may help, but I REALLY hate that the thread is hidden except for the first tweet. I really like having all of it show up in my feed. It's usually something from the middle that catches my attention. I may or may not bother with summaries, depending on how much info they contain.
