How can there be peace
when deep hatred prevails between people,
which continues to be fueled.
Where are the peaceful people who can forgive and approach each other
without forgetting the past?

There are too few.
I only see death.

I think that secular Israelis want peace. I think most people who live in the cities (large and small) want peace. However there are extreme religious sects are not able to understand that ending settlement in the Palestinian areas is part of the solution

But hardcore politicians rule the country who have been elected by most of the people.

I think:
older Israelis are afraid to let go of safety/security of the hard line militarism,
the extreme settlement/black hat groups who follow the biblical borders &
the secret sauce is Americans (&others) migrating to Israel as an expression of their religious beliefs.
Then
You get Netanyahu!
