I've got to confess that while I will vote for Biden/Harris if they're the D nominees, when I see so many Biden/Harris super fans here, it feels pretty weird. Our whole system is a mess. We need ranked choice voting across the board, no Gerrymandering, and increased campaign finance regulations.

(What I mean is seeing Biden support that seems entirely uncritical is a red flag for me.)

I so appreciate you not saying "*PROVE* YOUR EXPERIENCE!"

RCV has a winner, it's just that there's only a winner if someone gets more than 50%. If not, the lowest vote-getters are dropped and 2nd choices of those who voted for the least vote-getter are added in until someone gets >50%.

So, does that filter out the extreme voices because candidates know they have to appeal to a wider audience?

It would not stop a populist winner though? One that could convince the fanatical support?

I like the idea of more consensus government.

The idea is that folks know voting for a "long shot" won't "take votes away" from a more mainstream candidate.
