If you need parentheses inside of other parentheses, use brackets for the inner ones. But better yet, rewrite the sentence to avoid the parentheses inside of other parentheses.

Where do you stand on who vs. that? I always thought it was "people who" and "things that," but everyone seems to be gravitating toward "that" for both.

You are correct. Who for people and that for things if what I prefer. I guess you can use that for people, but not which! But I don't like it.

I have another one for you: "I'm going to the Robinson's house" Or "Robinsons' house"? I say the latter, it's a plural possessive. My friend says "Robinson's" because it's a singular family ("the Family Robinson"), not a collection of individuals. ???
