A comfortable (not worrying how you are going to make ends meet, but not necessarily wealthy) retirement is such a privilege.

To be able to enjoy taking in the world around you without having to rush to get to work, deal with promotions, salary increases, layoffs, etc. 10/10 Highly recommend.

Please don’t delay in creating your exit strategy. There is something known as FI (financial independence) and it is achievable for more than just the tech bros and ultra high earners.

Finally, even if you are in your 50s it’s not too late for you. Yes it is easier in your 20s and 30s, But understanding the harm of consumer debt and the benefit of compound interest will help anyone at any age.

Also forgive yourself your past financial mistakes. We all have some, just most won’t admit to them. So don’t think you are alone. It’s more important to look to the future than dwell on the past.
