I already buy a lot of my seed from Southern Exposure. I didn't realize they were Black owned. I just loved their seed varieties that do incredibly well in my Zone 9a garden. I will definitely give these others a try.

They're a co-operative. I believe they made the list because Ira Wallace was a founding member and she continues to be front and cente rof the operation. She is revered and the co-op holds her in the highest regard.

I love that they work with small family farms.

A number of seed companies do. Sow True Seed in Asheville, NC also works with small, local farms in Appalachia. Last year, they became employee-owned.
