My oldest son quit trick or treating when he was about 11. He liked to stay home and give out the candy while I took his 2 younger siblings out. My younger son was still going out for candy at 16 (he was small for his age and could get away with it). I figured they balanced each other out lol.

I took my daughter out every year up until 14, now we sit out on the driveway with a decorated backdrop and had our glow sticks, candy and awards for best costumes. She loves Halloween. 🎃🌛

Very cool! We don't get anyone where we live now and I really miss it. At least I have grandkids that drop by but they're aging out of it too.

Neither do I. As long as they're behaving themselves what's the harm? If you run out of candy when the older ones come by just turn off the lights.

We hand out over 100 pieces of candy to all ages, even parents. It's the spirit of getting out with your kids or with friends.
There's a town near me that enforces the age for Trick or Treating.
It's a fun night, if it's done in the right context.
