One of things that's so frustrated me about the "Twitter killer" and "the next Twitter" narrative and hype is that Twitter itself wasn't "Twitter" out of the gate.

It took years to grow into "the" SM platform it became.

Same with the "oh you have to get celebrities if you want Spoutible to grow" whiners.

Um, no. Twitter didn't become a behemoth because celebrities were early adopters. Celebrities went to Twitter because their audience was already there.

I honestly didn't come here looking for a Twitter substitute; this isn't that. There's no more such network. This is more a community.

Exactly. The community that built around @cbouzy 's T-place account, the way he asked for input, the clear statement that Spoutible *would* be a safe place - those were the draw.

I pre-registered not because I expected a T-place experience, but because I knew it wouldn't be one.
