So ever since my son was 2 I've been telling him this story for bed time about Batman playing on the playground and Joker pranking him and he has to figure out who is playing pranks. I get way into character and everything and he always enjoys it immensely. Been about a year since I told it to him

So I told it to him tonight, and he enjoyed it and he laughed along. But, for the first time ever, at 8 years old, at the end of the story he stopped laughing and paused for a second then asked "wait, why was Batman playing on a playground?" And part of me laughed and another part died a little.

It is beautiful to watch them grow but also sad when they start leaving behind some of the things we love doing with them.

That's exactly it. Awesome that he finally asks that question. Sad that he is now past the point in life where its all about playing at playgrounds for everyone.
