I agree. Not to be curmudgeonly, but a lot of "kids these days" don't get to problem solve enough, nor have enough unscheduled time to get into trouble (& be creative). It's not just me – recently read that researchers think this is a huge contributor to the uptick in anxiety and depression. Gifted.

when I see these studies mention ‘increase’ I wonder ‘Was it previously underreported?’ in GenX and Boomer childhoods stating you might be having mental or societal difficulties was a mark of Shame as you ‘just weren’t tough’ or worse you were ‘crazy’. Glad that has changed.
