If the powers that be refuse to put Trump in jail for breaking the law, his fines for breaking gag orders should start at $ 1 million.

Holding/running for office should not be a get-out-of-jail-free card. JFC, we are so fucking backward on this.

Our criteria to run for Federal Elections need to change. Nobody under Indictment for Federal or State Investigations should be allowed to run until they are exonerated in Court. I don’t care how they do it. I don’t know if it needs to be added to the

If such a law existed, Republican Attorneys General all over the country would indict the best Democrat candidates just prior to the deadline for declaring their candidacy. They would then drop the charges later, citing "new evidence".

We won't solve our current crisis by restricting who can run for office, as any such effort can be weaponized for authoritarian purposes. We must instead maximize voter choice.

(An exception is disqualifying Insurrectionists, as that is already required by the 14th Amendment.)
