According to most articles I have read, "national, year-round STANDARD time aligns best with the natural day-to-night rhythms of the human body." That would be more light in the morning.

But the corporate machine prefers Daylight savings because they will get more business in the evenings.

Remember during the energy crisis of the 1970s, we tried permanent Daylight Saving Time again in the winter of 1973-1974. I remember sitting in the classroom during first period and having the sun rise during class. I ever so disliked it.
