There are some great tips here. You’d be very surprised to find out how easy it is to get your personal data. I personally, have frozen out credit so no one but I can access our credit rating. That was a mildly embarrassing day when buying a new car and I forgot to make our credit accessible.

Yeah, don't think it couldn't happen to you. My dad was scammed out $40,000 by someone doing the grandparents scam. They knew my name and city and said I needed money for bail because they said I caused a traffic crash that killed a pregnant woman.

I am so sorry that . happened to your family. I worry about my 88-year-old dad many days and he calls he gets that he actually answers.

We got our parents a VOIP phone system that only allows calls from our relatives, their friends, and their doctors. That might be a good solution for your dad. We tried caller ID but for some reason they still answered every call. They agreed that wasn't good so they approved the new system.
