A former friend from Winnipeg sent me the $10 note with Ms. Desmond on it fresh off rhe presses. I thought it was amazing.

She even created her own line of beauty products which she sold at studios owned by her Beauty school graduated. She dedicated her life to fighting for raising up her Black community. A real hero.

She went to Beauty School and opened a Beauty studio in Halifax that catered to the Black women. She then opened her own beauty school to train Black women and opened more studios where she employed graduates.
