This will be my last spout about Joe Manchin retiring. His loss is nothing that we can’t overcome. He has repeatedly voted against things that his constituents would’ve benefitted from simply because he’s fond of the attention being the deciding vote often gave him. (Cont.)

He also often voted against important pieces of legislation because doing so made him richer. He was never a staunch ally of voting rights, reproductive rights, democracy, or fighting climate change. He was not an actual Democrat. (Cont.)

He also wasn't likely to be re-elected anyway (because as popular as he might be in his state, his would-be opponent, a Dem-turned-Repub governor, is even more popular).
