Lori Lightfoot losing re-election, and the run off is between a former public school exec, supported by the Fraternal Order of Police; and a county commissioner (and former educator) supported by the Chicago teachers union. That seems like a lot to process in 2023, right?

not surprising to me--it really seemed like Lightfoot couldn't manage to please any influential voting block. Her sitting on the fence between the progressives and the moderates did not serve her well. Do you live in Chicago? Who will you vote for?

I hear you clearly on this and agree. Not surprised, but still. Phew. I do not live in Chicago, so only followed everything from afar, and my friends there also seem very not surprised. I only meant this is “A lot” as an outsider, staring down 2024.
