Habit restoration was one of our biggest tasks as a park ranger in SoCal. I HATED castor bean plants!

For weed abatement we used sheep and goats in areas where we weren’t doing habitat restoration yet. As migrant animals may introduce invasive grasses.

Wonderful Robyn. Thank you and thanks for your work with the National Parks. People in the US have little idea how truly valuable our NPs are. It’s why people travel from all over the world to see our natural areas. Protected, maintained, and restored by some of the most dedicated people on earth.

Back in the late 1950s, my brother ate some castor bean seeds. He had to have his stomach pumped due to the fact that the seeds contain the toxin ricin. We don't like castor bean plants either!
