When otherwise good journalists don't report crucial information as it is discovered and instead holdout for a possible or an advance book deal, it's a form of self-bribe and completely antithetical to the principles of journalism. They facilitate corruption. They're party to it.

It's similar to a good cop, taking a bribe from organized crime to look the other way.

In response to Jack Brown.
I totally agree with you! I think there should be a law against profiting from working for the Federal Government in a Presidential Administration. It should last for a MINIMUM of 10 years after they leave public office. If they do choose to write a book before that the $ should be held in ESCROW.
