The entire system is set up to penalize the poor. Fines for things like tickets are a perfect example but there are hundreds more.
America has criminalized being poor.

Ok, but the whole point of loans is to give someone the opportunity to get something (hopefully something long-lasting), that they don’t have the money for. Do you advocate getting rid of loans?

My daughter was #10 in a class of 400. She got a scholarship but it wasn’t enough so also she had help thru work study. In grad school scholarship ended & she had to get student loan. The interest rate was insane & took 10 years to pay so she lived in poverty with a Masters degree. Worse for others.
