Apparently, this Roadrunner (named Flash), that has been hanging out, decided to trust me enough to jump up on my lap. I had nothing for him and was just sitting on my patio looking at my phone. I do throw him some meal worms on occasion so he knows me.

That roadrunner is huge. I seen some in Baja but never one of this size.

Average size for our roadrunners here. It was a very special moment. Luckily I didn’t flinch when he jumped up.

Keep an eye out for empty Acme boxes - that'll means there's a coyote nearby. I've seen Saturday morning documentaries about it.

Reminded me of this.

Merely seeing a coyote is NOT a reason to call 911. However, there are certain behaviors that are cause for alarm.
Specifically:
Coyotes carrying any product marked “ACME”.

Hi! I see you like bald eagles. I took this pic in Minnesota a couple of years ago. It was so amazing to see one. When I spotted him he was just a little white spot in the tree. So, I zoomed in and wow!

I do feel incredibly lucky. I have other birds that come around and land on me but the roadrunner was super special.

Also live in Tucson and have a roadrunner regularly visit and look thru the patio door (it drives the dogs crazy). A hummer flew into the door on Nov 4th and injured his wing. I’ve been attempting to rehab him since but he still can’t fly. He seems to be progressing and appears otherwise healthy.

Oh my. Poor little thing. Hope he gets to fly again. I had a little dog at the house for a day and my roadrunners were not pleased.
Please let me know how the hummer does. .

That's why he's on your lap...where's the mealworms he's asking😁 Birds know who provides them food and water, at least thats what I read in an article, but it says to never look them directly in the eye...they take that as a threatening gesture.

He is very sweet and makes cooing sounds but has always kept his distance. I have never done anything to scare him like trying to touch him. The trust has built up over time, but him jumping up was totally unexpected. And I do look him directly in the eyes while we are chatting. He seems interested.
