I'll bite. Natural Christmas trees are bullshit, dangerous, and bad for the environment and nobody should ever use a real tree.

Xmas trees are a grown and harvested crop. They do not go into the woods and cut them down. They are planted and grown and finally harvested. The land used is not suitable for other crops and the trees are actually good for the land.

Funny side-related story. In certain parts of the country (like Colorado) there are still a lot of people who go and harvest their own tree (which I think in this day should be a practice that dies).

Yes, but trees that are dumped into landfills release methane which makes their climate footprint far worse than an artificial tree that replaces 10-20 real trees over their lifespan.

This would happen with any planted ground cover.
Now if you wanted to argue that the fossil fuel used for production, harvesting and transport is carbon intensive, you would have a point but you would still be a Grinch. 😝
