SF Supervisor Harvey Milk, assassinated OTD in 1978, wasn't just "openly gay." He was specifically building a coalition that included working people, union leaders, the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, disabled folks, young people, and elders. That's why he was so dangerous to the Establishment.

In response to Steve Silberman.
I was 10, living in the bay, it was formative. Watching the way the community responded, watching Feinstein, watching my church, my fearful, bigoted, conservative family in the midst of it.
