3). Unless you have booked an excursion on a set date, avoid visiting for a day or two after a storm or during bad weather as the beautiful blue sea will look murky and will spoil your visit and any photographs taken

4). Selfie sticks are classed as professional photography/filming equipment at the site and you may be subject to an extra charge to use them

5). Make time if you can to venture down to the beach too, even if it is just to have a quick look, often excursions don't allow enough time though to go down to it, which is a shame.

Tulum is not worth visiting these days. There was a time when the ruins were quiet. The places to stay were lower end but brought you right to the ruins and beach. I'm afraid that was over 10 years ago. Muyil is worth visiting. I'm only praying that Punta Allen still is.
