What DOES make sense is that the woman showing up at school board meetings complaining about Scholastic Books & saying they caused her porn addiction is actually the Public Relations Coordinator for a "christian" book publishing company that wants Scholastic out of schools & out of business
Civil Canuck @SeizeTheEh
One book caused porn addiction, not her isolated homeschooling and likely utter lack of information. Even her fake premise makes no sense.

She means when I was in grammar school, the “Mudhen” series I bought through them causes porn? Who knew?!?

I'd like to know what she considers "porn" if a single kiss in a book was enough to send her down the path to addiction. I feel like even Amish romances are too spicy for her.

Maybe it was growing up isolated and ignorant, with parents who clearly weren't monitoring her reading and internet use?

I hate using "monitoring." "Awareness" might be a better word.

My mom always had a rough idea of what I was reading and often asked if I was enjoying or having diffficulty with anything in them.

This is obscenely ridiculous. Most folks have a deep abiding love of Scholastic books and book fairs. How blasphemous to contaminate one of life's greatest pleasures and good memories like this!
