Just a casual reminder that in 1861, 11 Senators and 3 Representatives were expelled from Congress for failing to recognize Lincoln’s election and supporting insurrection. — If we can expel George Santos, we can expel the insurrectionists.

"The claim that 11 senators and three U.S. House members were expelled in 1861 for refusing to acknowledge Lincoln's win is PARTLY FALSE, based on our research." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/01/02/fact-check-14-congressmen-expelled-1861-sup...

While this factoid arguably misattributes the reason for the departure of those representatives, it is still true that those members of Congress were expelled -- for supporting the Confederacy over the Union. Not recognizing Lincoln's victory could easily be inferred.
